Method of optimizing data flow between an application or database and a database server

A method of optimizing the interaction between an application or database and a database server, comprises the steps of routing data between the application or database and the database server through an optinsation system, the optimisation system analysing the data and applying rules to the data to speed up the interaction between the application or database and the database server. The optimisation system preferably uses techniques such as caching request and response data, pre-caching and of requests, query batching, compression, string replacement, or load balancing. The database server is preferably cloud based, on a local network or on a wide area network. Also claimed is a method of distributing software applications, a method of optimising the interaction between file request and a file server, and a method of optimising the interaction between a Web data requester and a Web server.
