PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a river monitoring and warning system capable of alerting a person, for example, working or fishing in a river when a flow rate reaches a dangerous level even without a noticeable change in a water level.;SOLUTION: A river monitoring and alarming system comprises: an acoustic Doppler current profiler to measure a flow direction and a flow rate in water at each depth; a flow rate data by depth decoding section to divide flow direction data and flow rate data at each depth output from the acoustic Doppler current profiler into the flow rate data at each depth; a determination section to output determination data when the flow rate data at each depth output from the flow rate data by depth decoding section is larger than a preliminary set flow rate warning value at each depth; an alarm generation section to generate an alarm signal when receiving an input of the determination data output from the determination section; and an alarm device to issue an alarm sound or an alarm display in a manner that can reach a person when receiving the input of the alarm signal output from the alarm generation section.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
