PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing high-purity mandelic acids useful as pesticide raw material, a liquid crystal material, and an optical resolving agent, and to provide high-purity mandelic acids crystal.;SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing mandelic acids by hydrolyzing mandelonitriles with mineral acid, reaction and aging is performed in the condition where the unreacting mandelonitriles exist and a portion of the generated mandelic acids is deposited. In the method of manufacturing mandelic acids by hydrolyzing mandelonitriles with mineral acid, reaction and aging is performed in the condition where the unreacting mandelonitriles exist and 50-99.9 wt.% of the generated mandelic acids is deposited.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
