PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform resistance welding of galvanized steel sheets, while preventing reduction in the service lifetime for resistance welding of electrode chips 9, 11 by shaping into regular shapes without grinding and removing a deformed portion or a worn-out portion of the electrode chips 9, 11, reducing the frequency of exchanging the electrode chips 9, 11 and the cost of the resistance welding, suppressing the extent of deformation in resistance welding by raising the hardness of the tip faces of the electrode chips 9, 11 when shaping the tip faces into regular shapes, and further stabilizing a heat balance.;SOLUTION: Resistance welding of the galvanized steel sheets is performed by the electrode chips 9, 11, on the tip faces of which zinc-copper films are formed by resistance welding, while holding the galvanized steel sheets with a required pressure between a pair of electrode chips 9, 11 made of copper or chrome-copper alloy. When zinc-iron films formed on the copper-zinc alloy films, which are formed on the tip ends by resistance welding, have a film thicknesses larger than required thicknesses, after shaping the tip faces of the electrode chips 9, 11, by using an electrode chip renewing tool 33, so that the zinc-iron alloy films have minute thicknesses, resistance welding of the galvanized steel sheets is continued.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
