PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warning device for an expressway vehicle speed monitoring camera in which frequency of faulty warning output gradually decreases by accumulating data, as a vehicle travels further, whether a vehicle speed monitoring camera is set for an expressway or for a local road, when using data of the vehicle speed monitoring camera such as in Keyhole Markup Language (KML) format which does not include information whether the vehicle speed monitoring camera is set for the expressway or for the local road.;SOLUTION: A warning device for an expressway vehicle speed monitoring camera obtains data of a vehicle speed monitoring camera such as in Keyhole Markup Language (KML) format from outside, the data including positional data and vehicle speed limit data but not including information whether the monitoring camera is set for an expressway or for a local road, and displays the monitoring camera as Point of Interest (POI) on a map obtained from the Internet. When traveling on an expressway, the warning device extracts a vehicle speed monitoring camera within a predetermined distance, such as 3 m, from the expressway and issues a warning when a vehicle approaches a predetermined distance from the monitoring camera. At the time, a user confirms and inputs whether the vehicle speed monitoring camera is set for the expressway or for a local road. By the procedure, the warning device does not further issue the warning for the particular vehicle speed monitoring camera for the local road.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
