PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pier structure of a railway rolling stock allowing sufficiently securing of a compartment space, while avoiding an increase of weight and lowering of strength of a vehicle.;SOLUTION: In this pier structure K of the railway rolling stock, a pier peeler 12 is provided inside window portions 8 along a boundary part B of the window portions 8 with each other. In the longitudinal direction of the pier peeler 12, a recessed portion 25 opened to the inside of the compartment is extended. At least a part of a duct member 13 is located in the recessed portion 25. By this constitution, an arrangement space of the duct member 13 is formed inside the pier peeler 12, and thereby the duct member 13 can be suppressed from projecting to the inside of the vehicle and the compartment space can be sufficiently secured. The pier peeler 12 is made to have a channel structure since the recessed portion 25 is formed. Load and stress due to bending force and twisting force of the railway rolling stock therefore can be efficiently transmitted, and rigidity and strength can be sufficiently kept without increasing weight.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
