PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the lowering of tire pressure by which data obtained when a vehicle turns while traveling on an upward slope or a downward slope can be rejected to reduce a variation of a decreased pressure determination value to thereby prevent a false report from occurring.;SOLUTION: The method for detecting the lowering of tire pressure for detecting the lowering of the tire pressure on the basis of a tire rotation speed includes: a first storage step for detecting and storing the wheel rotation speed of each tire; a decreased pressure determination step for determining the lowering of the tire pressure on the basis of the wheel rotation speed; a second storage step for, assuming that driving wheel torque required for a vehicle to travel on a flat road at fixed speed is standard driving torque, storing a relation between the standard driving torque and a vehicle speed; a lowered pressure determination prohibition step for prohibiting the determination of the lowering of the tire pressure based on the wheel rotation speed when a vehicle turning radius is smaller than a predetermined threshold determined by the relation between the torque of the driving wheel and the standard driving torque corresponding to the vehicle speed; and a lowered pressure determination start step for starting the determination of the lowering of tire pressure based on the wheel rotation speed when the turning radius is equal to or larger than the predetermined threshold.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
