PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bile acid binder including, as an active ingredient, a specific component having bile acid binding capability or capability of improving hypercholesterolemia contained in RJ (Royal Jelly), and a method for decreasing serum cholesterol using the specific component.SOLUTION: The bile acid binder contains one or more selected from the group consisting of MRJP1 (Major Royal Jelly Protein 1), MRJP2, and MRJP3 as an active ingredient. The serum cholesterol reducing agent contains MRJP1 as an active ingredient. An agent for reducing solubility of cholesterol miscell contains, MRJP1 as an active ingredient. The method for reducing serum cholesterol includes orally ingesting MRJP1.
