PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating a sulfate solution capable of effectively removing a bivalent iron ion contained in the sulfate solution as a trivalent iron compound precipitate by effectively performing the oxidation of the bivalent iron ion to the trivalent iron ion using iron oxidizing bacteria.;SOLUTION: The method of treating the sulfate ion solution for removing the bivalent iron ion contained in the sulfate solution as the trivalent iron ion compound precipitate by oxidizing to the trivalent ion includes performing the oxidation of the bivalent iron ion using the iron oxidizing bacteria under the condition that the concentration of the bivalent iron ion is not greater than 0.60 equivalent/L, the concentration of Al³⁺ ion is not greater than 0.65 equivalent/L, and the equivalent ratio of Al³⁺ ion to Fe²⁺ ion is not less than 0.15 (Al³⁺/Fe²⁺).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
