PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a text reproducing device capable of presenting to a user the existence of a section without CC data during displaying a closed caption without losing the merit of closed caption list display "that contents of video/sound data can be presented without needing a display area so much". PSOLUTION: The text reproducing device (illustrated in a recording and reproducing device 1) is provided with a drawing part for drawing text data temporally associated with time series data, and an interval acquiring part for acquiring a time interval of the text data.
