PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete process for eliminating the difference between image qualities of read images of both sides. PSOLUTION: A control unit determines whether where is an image document based upon image data stored in a first storage unit (#3) and when there is an image document, a second storage unit stores information showing whether each document is an image document in read order (#4, YES at #3), and guides a user to place the document on a document tray again (#5). Then when there are read instructions within a predetermined period (YES at #6), a second control unit turns over an image document to make a CCD read an image of the backside (#10 and #11, YES at #8), stores the image data for update after deleting the image data stored at #2 as to the image of the backside of the document, and turned over the document again and discharges it (#12), but feeds and discharges a text document as it is (#9). Then the control unit reads the image data out of the first storage unit and makes a recording unit perform image forming operation (#14 and #15). PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
