PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing method to secure fixing property and color reproducibility nearly the same as those in thermal fixing without giving a sticky feeling to the surface of a fixing toner layer after fixing particulates containing resin such as toner on a medium such as paper when fixing the particulates.;SOLUTION: In the fixing method, the fixing solution containing a softener for softening resin by dissolving or swelling at least a part of the resin is imparted to a resin containing particulate layer comprising resin containing particulates containing the resin on the medium so as to fix the resin containing particulate layer on the medium. The fixing method includes: a fixing solution imparting step for imparting the fixing solution to the resin containing particulate layer; a pressure step for applying mechanical pressure to the resin containing particulate layer after imparting the fixing solution to the resin containing particulate layer; and a release step for releasing the mechanical pressure after the fixing solution passes through the resin containing particulate layer and reaches the medium.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
