PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base oil for a refrigerator oil for carbon dioxide excellent in stability and electric insulation property and having appropriate compatibility with a coolant when it is used with the carbon dioxide coolant and further indicating sufficient lubrication property even if the viscosity of the base oil is not increased, and a refrigerator oil for carbon dioxide coolant.;SOLUTION: The base oil for refrigerator oil for carbon dioxide coolant and the refrigerator oil for carbon dioxide coolant are characterized in that they contain a complete ester of a fatty acid in which a ratio of 14C, 16C, 18C, 20C and 22C branched type fatty acid is 80-100 mol% and at least one kind of polyhydric alcohol selected from pentaerythritol, ditrimethylolpropane and dipentaerythritol respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
