PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eye detector, a nap detector, and a method of the eye detector capable of deciding a position of the nasal cavity more precisely to detect a position of the eye in the eye detector for estimating the position of the eye from the position of the nasal cavity. PSOLUTION: In the eye detector having a nasal cavity position deciding means 12a for deciding the position of the nasal cavity from two feature points extracted from a face image and an open/close detecting means 12b for setting an eyeball tracking area with the position of the nasal cavity as a reference to search the eye in the eyeball tracking area, the nasal cavity position deciding means decides the position of the nasal cavity according to one feature point when prescribed conditions are effected.
