PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distortion detection apparatus capable of detecting appropriate load values without being affected by ambient temperatures to be used even if temperatures on a strain element have changed.;SOLUTION: The distortion detection apparatus is provided with the cylindrical strain element 12 which is distorted due to load; resistance elements arranged in the strain element 12 and having a resistance value which changes according to the amount of distortion; and a signal processing circuit connected to the resistance elements. Screw parts 14 are formed on the upper side and lower side of the strain element 12 in such a way as to be on both sides of the strain element 12. The signal processing circuit is arranged in a case 16, and the case 16 is mounted to the strain element 12.
