PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for forming an ink receiving film suitably used for manufacturing a wiring material, through a process in which an ink containing metal paste or metal nanoparticles is printed on a substrate, and the printed ink is burned. PSOLUTION: The coating liquid for forming an ink receiving film contains: (A) metal oxide particles comprising an oxide of metal selected from the group consisting of silicon, titanium, zirconium, and aluminum, each having its primary particle size of 2 to 200 nm, and containing a 25% by mass or more of aggregate particles in which two or more particles are bonded; and (B) a condensate having, as a main backbone, a repeating unit of M-O obtained by subjecting a specific alkoxide compound to a hydrolysis condensation reaction. The coating liquid for forming an ink receiving film is also characterized in that a contained amount of the component (A) is 40 to 95% by mass to the total amount of the components (A) and (B).
