Way to individually adjust the administration of dietary components such as supplements are disclosed. In the method, the whole blood of a mammal is exposed to food components. And in some cases, after exposure to the dietary component, further stimulation of blood cells have been exposed, the level of marker mRNA associated with a disease state is measured in leukocytes. By comparing the values found in blood cells that were not exposed mRNA levels after exposure, effect of food components present in mammals can determine something. By screening a mammalian blood for food possible ingredients number and may develop a set of optimal food ingredients that are adjusted for the specific mammal in order to treat or prevent the disease state.
