PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plugging method of a ceramic honeycomb molded body capable of suppressing the protrusion of a plug part from an end surface in at least one end surface, enhanced in plugging density and enabling gap-free plugging.;SOLUTION: The plugging method of a ceramic honeycomb molded body has a first plugging process for immersing one end surface 11 of a ceramic honeycomb molded body 1 in a plugging slurry 2 and a second plugging process for immersing the other end surface 12 of the ceramic honeycomb molded body 1 in the plugging slurry 2. In the second plugging process, a grasping device 3 having a chuck part 31 for grasping the side surface 12 of the ceramic honeycomb molded body 1 and a grasping device 3 having a surface pressing part 32 for pressing the end part 11 is used. The ceramic honeycomb molded body 1 is grasped by a chuck part 31 and an elastic member 4 is provided between a surface pressing part 32 and the ceramic honeycomb molded body 1 and the end surface 11 of the ceramic honeycomb molded body 1 is pressed by the surface pressing part 32 to internally compress the plugging slurry, which is arranged by the first plugging process, by the elastic member 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
