PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide surface-coated bright powder which is excellent in gloss and color development and has good affinity and adhesiveness to skins, and to provide a cosmetic containing the powder.;SOLUTION: This surface-coated bright powder is characterized by being obtained by the surface coating of a compound represented by the general formula (1) : R³OCO-R¹-(-COO-R²-OCO-R¹-)_n-COOR³ [R¹ is a dimer acid residue; R² is a dimer diol residue; R³ is an isostearyl alcohol residue; (n) is a number of 4 to 6] with bright powder.
