PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eavesdropping/surreptitious photographing device discovery apparatus and eavesdropping/surreptitious photographing device discovery method, which are optimum for discovering the eavesdropping and surreptitious photographing devices.;SOLUTION: A reception device 10 receives a signal having arbitrary frequencies. The eavesdropping/surreptitious wave detecting apparatus 20 discriminates whether the strength value of the signal received by the reception device 10 is not lower than a first threshold or not. When the eavesdropping/surreptitious wave detecting apparatus 20 has decided that the strength value of the signal is not lower than the first threshold, the eavesdropping/surreptitious wave detecting apparatus 20 discriminates whether the time decided by the eavesdropping/surreptitious wave detecting apparatus i.e., the continuous detecting time is longer than 5 min or not so long as it decides that the strength value of the signal is not lower than the first threshold continuously. When the eavesdropping/surreptitious wave detection apparatus 20 decides that the continuous detecting time is longer than a first reference time, the same apparatus 20 also decides that the signal received by the reception device 10 is a signal produced by eavesdropping/surreptitious photographing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
