PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective vibration reducing mechanism to be applied to a multistoried structure such as a high-rise building for developing sufficient vibration reducing effects while requiring no great additional mass and requiring less constraints on an installation position and a less number of installation points.;SOLUTION: In any story of the multistoried structure, a rotary inertia mass damper 1 is installed which is operated with story-to-story deformation to produce a rotary inertia mass Ψ₀ with the rotation of a weight. An additional spring 2 is installed in series to the rotary inertia mass damper. A natural frequency which is determined by the rotary inertia mass and the additional spring is synchronized with the natural frequency of the structure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
