PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for a scheduled operation of machine tools, which can utilize off-the-self programs for machining and reduce a risk to stop the machine tools while they are running as scheduled. SOLUTION: A control apparatus for a scheduled operation of machine tools has a machining program storage 13 to memorize the machining programs and a schedule data storage 14 to store the schedule data. The control apparatus searches whether or not the machining program with a name specified by the schedule data is located in a numerical control unit 4, and if it is not located, the apparatus searches whether the program is located in the machining program storage 13 or is located in a data server 50 of a storage device. If the program is located in the storage 13 or the server 50, the apparatus sends the machining program with the file name specified to a memory of the numerical control unit 4 by using a main processor 16.
