PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stay vane of a hydraulic machine capable of improving work efficiency at a job site when improving the stay vane by adding an element to an outlet or an inlet of the existing stay vane of the hydraulic machine. PSOLUTION: When attaching the element for profile improvement of the stay vane to an inlet front end (leading edge) or an outlet front end (trailing edge) of the existing stay vane 1, for instance, a solid element 2 which is the element for profile improvement is vertically divided and is attached to the existing stay vane 1. The element to be added is thus reduced in weight and becomes easy to handle. As the element for profile improvement, other than the solid element, a round bar element, a circular pipe element, a plate element or the like may be used in combination to easily form a desired profile shape.
