PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transesophageal probe having improved safety.;SOLUTION: The transesophageal probe 10 has a probe head 12 inserted into the esophagus of a living body. The probe head 12 comprises an abutting member 18 that abuts the esophageal wall, a vibrator 20 that transmits and receives ultrasonic waves to and from the heart located on the front side via the abutting member 18, and a head expansion part 22 that presses the abutting member 18 onto the esophageal wall. In addition, the transesophageal probe 10 has a sensor 31 that detects the operating state of the head expansion part 22 and a probe-side display 34 or an apparatus-side display 48 that displays the operating state of the head expansion part 22 on the basis of the detected result of the sensor 31.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
