PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for eliminating a defective cathode plate, which enhances the production efficiency in the whole recovery system of refined metal by preventing transportation troubles in a traverse conveyer or troubles in a stripping device caused by the defective cathode plate by mechanically eliminating the defective cathode plate, and to provide a method for eliminating the defective cathode plate.;SOLUTION: The apparatus for eliminating a defective cathode plate includes: a detection bar 30 which is arranged on the front side of a stripping machines 107 for stripping refined metal electrodeposited on the surface of a cathode plate 1 and which detects that the cathode plate 1 is defective by being brought into contact with a projected part 41 of a detection dog 40 arranged beforehand at an upper part of a cross bar 4 of the cathode plate 1, which is determined as the defective cathode palate 1 in many cathode plates 1 pulled up from an electrolysis tank after completion of electrolytic refining; and a transfer device 20 which eliminates the detected defective cathode plate 1 by transferring it to a reject conveyer 26 and at the same time, transfers the cathode plates 1 except the defective cathode plate 1 to a traverse conveyer 105.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
