PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cloth containing an amino acid-based organic polymer having an action to keep the moistness of the human skin and held in a state resistant to falling off the polymer even after repeated washing, and to provide a method for producing the cloth.;SOLUTION: The cloth comprises 5-60 wt.% amino acid-based organic polymer based on the weight of an unprocessed cloth, wherein the amino acid-based organic polymer has a number-average molecular weight of 400-800 and the cloth keeps, after washing 50 times, ≥2% of the amino acid-based organic polymer based on the cloth weight. Preferably, the inorganic/organic ratio of the amino acid-based organic polymer is 0.3-0.6, the amino acid-based organic polymer is an emollient, and the cloth contains ≥50 wt.% polyester fiber and is composed of fibers having hollow cross-sections.
