PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise efficiency of name resolution processing by decreasing the number of records of name resolution information which are prestored when a communication device which communicates through the same gateway device when making a name resolution request targeting a different FQDN as a name resolution object.;SOLUTION: A name resolution system which reports addresses of gateway devices 700 (700-1 to 700-3) to an information terminal communicating with other information terminals 600 (600-1 to 600-3) installed in the first network or a second network through the gateway devices installed in a first network to be connected, converts when a network identifier in a domain character string included in a name resolution request from the information terminal indicates the first network, a connection identifier of the domain character string into a fixed form identifier, and transmits the addresses of the gateway devices to the information terminal on the basis of the prestored name resolution information of the domain character string and the addresses of the gateway devices.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
