PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone age estimation apparatus, a bone age estimation method, and a bone age estimation program which are capable of accurately estimating a bone age by simple procedures based on a radiographic image of X-rays which transmit bones.;SOLUTION: An inspection system 1 includes: a computer 10; a scanner 20; and a cable 30. The scanner 20 reads an X-ray film 40 in which the radiographic image of the X-rays which transmits the bones is recorded to output image data (radiographic image data) according to the read X-ray film 40. The computer 10 extracts the brightest pixel with the highest luminance among specified areas in the radiographic image data. In addition, the computer 10 extracts pixels with luminance of a threshold or more according to the luminance of the brightest pixel among areas with predetermined size including the brightest pixel. Then, the computer 10 estimates the bone age based on distribution characteristics of the extracted pixels.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
