PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for upgrading firmware in an embedded system.;SOLUTION: The method for upgrading firmware is performed from a client computer to the embedded system via a network connection by letting a virtual file system being shared with a client computer. The embedded system is provided with means for upgrading firmware received over a network, and comprises a volatile memory, a persistent memory, a protocol stack for communication over a network.
