PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately transmit the request content of image reading to a requested party in an image reading request apparatus, method and program for requesting the image reading of a medical image to an image-reading doctor. PSOLUTION: A request data compilation screen 61 displays an explanation image 64 along with the medical image 54, or an image reading object. The explanation image 64 illustrates what part of the medical image 54 the requester doctor wants the requested doctor to draw attention. The explanation image 64 is generated based on data of the medical image 54. The explanation image 64 is displayed on the explanation image display part 66. When specifying an optional position inside the explanation image 64 by a pointer 53, an attention mark 72 is applied to the specified position.
