According to the present inventive concept there is provided a system for acquiring and processing data pertaining to a shot of an object, such as a puck or a ball, on a goal on a playing field, the goal being guarded by a goalkeeper, the system comprising: an acquisition device configured to acquire position data of the object during a time interval ΔT_P preceding the shot on goal, and a processing device configured to process the acquired position data of the object to estimate if an unobstructed path between the goalkeeper and the object is maintained throughout said time interval ΔT_P, and configured to register the shot on goal as a first type of shot at least on a condition that an unobstructed path between the goalkeeper and the object not was maintained throughout said time interval ΔT_P.
