PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS OF FLUVASTATINE SADIC - Various fluvastatin compositions and methods for preparing them are described. An example is a controlled-release pharmaceutical composition consisting of fluvastatin and at least one non-ionic hydrophilic polymer, the composition being substantially free of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. Another example is a stable pharmaceutical composition consisting of fluvastatin, preferably sadistic fluvastatin, the composition being substantially free of an alkaline stabilizing agent. Another example is a stable controlled-release pharmaceutical formulation, consisting of fluvastatin, preferably saddled fluvastatin, which is stable with a water content equivalent to over 3.5 percent by weight.
