PROCESS FOR THE BIOMASS THERMOMECHANICAL PRE-TREATMENT AND THE BIOMASS PRE-TREATMENT COMBINATOR This is an environmentally friendly process for the thermo-mechanical pre-treatment of biomass that involves the pre-treatment sequence of thermal reaction, followed by mechanical polishing. The thermal reaction involves transporting the biomass through a pressurized thermal reactor, followed by the explosion of steam, and then a combiner with multiple zones that physically decomposes the biomass to produce effectively and efficiently the biomass that is in optimal condition for enzymatic hydrolysis and conversion to ethanol.
