The present invention relates to hydrobromide form B, which is a well-known substance reducing coagulation of blood, prasugrel of the general formula I, exhibiting high chemical stability, further to a process of its preparation comprising dissolution or suspending of a compound of the general formula I in alcohol containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, in acetic acid alkyl ester having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or in aromatic hydrocarbons or mixtures thereof and the reaction of the compound with hydrobromic acid at a temperature ranging from -15 degC to a solvent boiling point, or in crystallization of prasugrel hydrobromide form A.
