METHOD FOR ENZYMATIC DEHAIRING OF HIDES AND SKINS WITH ISOLATED BACTERIAL CULTURES

The present invention relates to a process of dehairing of animal hides, wherein the optimum conditions under which animal hides are dehaired by activity of indigenous organisms present in the hides are defined. Further, the process of the invention not only leads to dehairing of animal hides of high quality, but it also permits the recovery of hair in an optimum condition. The method is just as economic as it is environmentally felicitous. It can be used as a compact method in which the number of individual technological steps and therewith expenditures for apparatus and the need for space and particularly for time can be reduced to a minimum.
