This invention relates to a method for processing of alumina nano particle that are not able to agglomerate significantly by milling mixture of manganese dioxide and aluminum by reaction between these constituents locally at high energy impact spots at separate locations, followed by dispersion of the powder mix in molten aluminium-magnesium alloy and by casting the slurry in a mold to get cast ingot. The microstructure of cast ingot synthesized by dispersion of powder mix after 450 minutes of milling, shows particles belonging to two size classes in the range of 1 to 10 nm with average size of 6 nm and in the range between 10 and 200 nm with average size of around 37 nm.
