The invention generally relates to a mechanism of extraction of ribbons from jute mesta plant.More particularly the invention relates to a multiplant manual ribboning device for extraction of ribbons from a bundle of at least 10-15 jute or mesta plant operable in one cycle and the said device can achieve a ribboning capacity of up to 70 kg stem/man-hour.In the present device,the bark of the jute including a full lenght of jute stick is separated at a time in one operation.The device is suitable for ribboning freshly harvested plant or substantially dry plant having certain amount of moisture content.
