The invention relates to an inductive device intended to measure the critical density of current in an overconductive hollow cylinder placed within an axial magnetic field which is used for the experimental determination of the critical current density - applied magnetic field characteristic. According to the invention, the device consists of an overconductive hollow cylinder (1) magnetically coupled with a tapped coil (2), for adjusting the number of turns, the assembly being submerged into a nitrogen bath (3) of a croystat (4) the end flange (5) of which is penetrated by a tube (6) wherethrough there pass some taps (7) which are serially connected to a variable A.C. voltage source, the voltage in the terminals and the current being recorded by an oscilloscope (OSC).
