HONEY WITH THE ADDITION OF CONCENTRATED LIQUID EXTRACT FROM ECHINACEA SPECIES AND ITS PRODUCTION

The subject of invention is honey with the addition of the concentrated liquid extract from the medicinal species of Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea Moench (purple coneflower), Echinacea pallida Nutt. (pale purple coneflower), Echinacea pallida var. angustifolia DC. (narrow leaf purple coneflower) and the preparation process. Addition of concentrated liquid extract of medicinal Echinacea species to honey does not change significantly physical-chemical and microbiological properties of honey. Honey with the addition of extract of medicinal Echinacea species contains less than 20 w/w % water and with a minimum daily intake, 10 g of honey per day, it contains at least 0.4 mg of phenolic material and at least 0.0025 mg dodekatetraenoic acid isobutylamides (alkamides) per 1 g of honey. Such honey can be used as food supplement or a medicine that strengthens the resistance of the organism and eliminates the symptoms of colds and flu.
