A backing block for heavy hauler wheel cars for hill holding thereof consists of a frame, a handle for installation under wheels of the car, it carries maximum load that is equal to half of load on axles of the car, high friction coefficient between the block and the support surface. The frame is made of high-quality plastic with wall thickness larger than , this is filled with foamed polyurethane with density defining its strength and being not less than 400 kg/m. On the block at the side of the road two metal-rubber pads are installed, on the rubber of those there are cuts, fixed to the bottom of the block with screws. The block has opening for its fixation to the holder on the car. At the front section of the block ribs are provided. Height of the block is H =260-. Distance from the bottom of the block to beginning of the block support at tire is h=40-. Ratios of overall length and width of the block and its height are L/H=1.9-2.2; B/H=1.3-1.5.
