The object of the present invention is a method for determining the plastic deformation of rupture in metal materials, employing the standard testing simply pulling on cylindrical test pieces and evaluated by optical instrument (profile projector), the maximum deformation produced in the lower section of the necking after rupture. This method has immediate applications in the field of Materials Science and Engineering, Quality Control and Numerical Methods metals.
