Process for the preparation of 2,10-diene-1,12-dodeca-dicarboxylic acid, wherein are reacted cyclooctene and acrylic acid with a ruthenium catalyst by a metathesis reaction with high concentrations of substrate 1 mol / l of cyclooctene reactions to a substance, thereby precipitating the resulting dicarboxylic acid in this case.
