GENERAL METHOD FOR DISPLAYING FRIEND-LIST WITH FRIEND-STATUS ON WEB PAGES

The invention belongs to the field of network technology, and particularly relates to a general method for displaying friend-list with friend-status on web pages. The method includes the following steps: a user logs on a web page to obtain and display the friend-list of the user without friend-status; the web page loads a flash, and then the flash connects to a socket server and sends the account of the user and the accounts of friends to the socket server; the socket server records the accounts into an on-line list; the socket server finds out, according to the received accounts of friends, accounts matching the accounts of friends from the on-line list and sends them to the flash; the web page with the flash marks the user-status of the matching accounts as on-line. The method can display the friend-status in the friend-list accurately on web pages, enable a user to see which of his friends are on-line and which of his friends are off-line, and greatly improve the use value and user experience of the web-based instant messaging tool.
