A catheter (6) for draining bile to a target location in the intestinal tract (1) comprises an external surface (7) facing radially outward, a proximal bile capturing portion (8) configured for placement in a biliary flow path (2) and a distal end (9) configured for placement in a target location in the intestinal tract (1), wherein the bile capturing portion (8) is located on the external surface (7) and adapted to capture bile from a radially external side of the catheter (6).
