The present invention relates to a sales-area monitoring server and method for monitoring security in one or more sales areas. The invention relates to a method for monitoring security in a sales area by using a sales-area monitoring server comprising: a network module for receiving a business-related event from a POS terminal and a video signal from a video recorder, and receiving a security filtering condition from outside; a storage unit for storing the security filtering condition; a control unit for generating a security event and transmitting same to the outside when the received event satisfies the security filtering condition; and a video signal processing unit for converting a video clip corresponding to the security event. The present invention also relates to the sales-area monitoring server.
