The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for the diagnosis of individual characteristics on the basis of an oscillometric arterial blood pressure measurement. According to the present invention, the apparatus for the diagnosis of individual characteristics on the basis of an oscillometric arterial blood pressure measurement provides: a pressure detection sensor portion for detecting cuff pressure including the effect of a pulse wave; a pulse wave extraction portion for extracting the pulse wave signal of an artery from the cuff pressure detected at the pressure detection sensor portion; a pulse wave amplitude detection portion for dividing the pulse wave signal extracted at the pulse wave extraction portion into a plurality of window areas and detecting the minimum amplitude at each window area;and an individual characteristics diagnosis portion for diagnosing individual characteristics by using the minimum amplitude at each window area detected at the pulse wave amplitude detection portion, thereby enabling diagnosis of individual characteristics using pulse wave information in the measurement of blood pressure.
