The purpose of the invention is to demonstrate that silicon elastomers originating from RTV-, LSR-, polyaddition EVC- or EVC-type polyorganosiloxane compounds undergo significantly-less degradation as a result of very high temperatures when at least one specific platinum compound that complies with the definition below is used as a stabilising additive. Said compound is selected from the group comprising: a) at least one platinum complex selected from among products having formula (I.1), wherein A, B, T1, T2, T3, T4, Rc and Rd are as defined in claim 1; and b) a combination of a) with at least one other platinum complex such as hexachloroplatinic acid and the derivatives thereof, complexes having formula (PtCl2, olefin)2 and the complexes of platinum and vinyl organopolysiloxanes. The use of articles that are made from stabilised silicon elastomers in accordance with the invention is advantageous in the electrical engineering field.
