According to the invention, a method of coupling a honing tool to a honing spindle is proposed which has the following steps: inserting the honing tool into the honing spindle into a joining position in which a honing-tool centre axis (24) is oriented coaxially to the honing-spindle centre axis (23); locking the honing tool on the honing spindle in the joining position by actuating an adjusting device (5, 6) assigned to the honing spindle. Furthermore, a honing spindle, a honing tool and a honing device which are suitable for carrying out the method are provided.
