The present invention discloses a method for controlling peer-to-peer network (P2P) download, which includes the following steps: a server receives a message transmitted from a source terminal and obtains connection information from the message; on the basis of the connection information, a connection forwarding table and a connection control table, the P2P download connection number is adjusted and controlled to control the P2P download. The present invention discloses a server for controlling P2P download and a system for controlling P2P download by using the server. The present invention can control the P2P download connection simply and effectively, and enables the P2P download connection to use more connection download resources in the case of less connection number and not to influence the usage of other network services in the case of more connection number, thus effectively solving the problem in the prior art that network usage performance is influenced because of the uncontrolled P2P download connection number.
