The invention relates to a thermal module (1) in the form of a mat having a rear side (7), a front side (6) that may be subjected to a stress, and an edge face (8). Said module can be borne by a supporting means (4), is able to create the desired temperature on the front side (6), and is tight and resistant to external stress. The module is designed as a superposition of the following components securely fastened together: a heat supply means (3); an elastomer contact layer (10) located on the front side (6), which layer is resistant to external stress and is sensitive to the temperature of the heat supply means (3); a tight sealing means; and a means or frame (12) providing rigidity combined with a means (13) providing transverse elastic compressibility.
